Apologies

Apologies

A Poem by Liz

* I'm sorry I couldn't love you.
( I just couldn't be your little plaything.)

* I'm sorry I couldn't return your feelings.
(But was what you did really necessary?)

* I'm sorry to be such a disappointment.
(You've been disappointing me since I've known you.)

* I'm sorry I let my guard down.
( I thought you might have changed.)

* I'm sorry I hurt you.
( Fate just keeps tearing us apart.)

* I'm sorry we lost touch.
(Maybe it was for the best...)

* I'm sorry you feel the need to ignore me.
( How could I not have noticed how horrible of a friend you were?)

* I'm sorry you regret loving me.
(How screwed up is that?)

* I'm sorry you think I betrayed you.
(It was really you who betrayed me all along.)

* I'm sorry I couldn't trust you.
( But I doubt life would have played out any differently.)

* I'm sorry you felt the need to lie to me.
( Was I really that insignificant to you?)

* I'm sorry you wish you could erase me.
(At times, I wished I could erase you, too.)

Wow! The flow was awesome. This piece seems very personal. Like you allowed the readers to look inside your soul and see the pain and anguish that this friend has caused you. Most of us (if not all) have experienced a friendship/scenerio like this. A friend who betrayed us and made us to feel as though it was all of our fault. I love the way you raised an issue and then answered it with the next line. This piece was very consistent and I feel as though you did an excellent job. Excellent read! Keep exercising your gift!
