I sit here thinking

I sit here thinking

A Poem by carolyn
"

I sit here thinking About what to write I lie thinking every night What to say, how to write Words that people will understand I lie awake thinking about posts Then when I wake, I have forgot

"
This is how I feel about writing. I have to think about what subjects to write about. I do this mostly at night and by the morning I have forgotten it all.

Best to take notes. I get motivation from song, life and the media. Someone one line can set-up a complete poem. Writing should come easy. Release to paper and later re-group your thoughts. Good to have met you and I hope to read some of your work.

Just find something that inspires you, write it down, spend a lot of time thinking about it, and keep writing it even when you don't feel like it, just a little at a time will do. Perhaps you can set a certain time in the day/week to work on it. Hope this helps!

simply write down whatever is in your mind...just WRITE and after a minute or two..stop....You will most likely get an idea for a poem there...I almost always rhyme but the majority do not...Two lines of feelings constitutes a poem..

Hi Carolyn - perhaps joining one of the many groups on the site would help?

Some groups provide prompts and challenges.
How about I give you the first prompt/challenge? Would that help push you?

Based on your friends page here I see 7 writers are already your friends. How about a poem which includes the name of each friend and how you imagine them based on their avatars. At least 7 lines long (one for each friend) and to any length you wish thereafter. Free verse or rhyming, the choice is yours. Funny, sincere, dark - any genre.
These are the kind of prompts some of the groups on Writers Cafe supply their members to give them a start.

Welcome and enjoy your stay.

Welcome to WC. For some writing seems effortless and forever - others work hard to come up with every line. But most fall in between. I look forward to your thoughts.

I always feel like you always do your best thinking at night time. I agree with Coyote; you should take a notepad and pen to bed with you and jot down ideas that appear in your head. It's horrible forgetting about ideas that you've thought of. But I look forward to reading your writing you upload. Welcome to writerscafe...
