The Voices quietedA Poem by Caroline B A MaguireOver time I have learnt to live with them...and they with me...
They are not so loud now
The voices in my head Once I feared what they longed to tell me They spoke in riddles and puzzled me so Confusion reigned for many years With it they held the power Then Little by little Piece by piece I made a sense of the game that is my life A sense that keeps me sane And I took back the power they stole And quieted the babble So I could hear my own voice once more The puzzle not yet complete The story May not be true But for now it is enough To get me through Today © 2021 Caroline B A MaguireReviews
