Into the field

Into the field

A Poem by Caroline B A Maguire
"

my subconscious mind had come to the end of the road - a little lateral thinking and a great friend got me on the move once more...

"
I left the road a while ago
Because I came to the end of the path
Like Dorothy on the yellow brick road
Only in reverse
Her starting post was my end of the line
There was nowhere to go
Then a friend spoke to my battered mind
Has your road ended my friend?
So look around you
What do you see?
I see fields and trees I replied
Can you not walk in the field he gently asked me ?
I could... I suppose..I felt a glimmer of hope stir within me
It wasn't risky...I had nothing to lose
But still it took a leap of faith
And so I jumped
Into the field
And I started walking
Slowly I made a new path for myself
And hope rose within me once again
But the best part is
I dont have to worry about the road ending ever again
Because now...
I can go in any direction

The road never ends, but sometimes it appears to. Many are they who come to those apparent endings before they can see the beginning of that which is real.
