Wedding Vows

Wedding Vows

A Poem by Lost, n'MT
"

Old poem from high school - it’s weird even by my standards.

"

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join together,
This man and this woman in holy matrimony that shall last forever
So let us pray, to this invisible man up in the sky
Let us assume that there is life after we die.
Thou shall not steal, that is what I hear.
But you stole my heart as I shed a tear.
I suppose sometimes that's just how it goes
Here I am glancing down at her body to place a rose.

They say it was an overdose but I know the real cause.
But I can never say for I have desecrated the laws.
So many outcomes but this one I had never expected.
You can call me insane but I haven't always been infected.
It was a cold blustery day, the last time that we had seen one another.
Her brother was my best friend a second son I once was to their mother.

You can say that this story was devised to be half truth and half myth.
But until the day comes where I have to explain, I will bleed the fifth.

We held our love for one another as we each shared one heart
Yeah, and forever in holy matrimony until death did us apart.
