Dream Dust

Dream Dust

A Poem by Carly Nelson
"

One out of series of recurring dreams I have about an old friend

"
Dream Dust
I dreamt of you early this morning
I was getting on a bus in Michigan
I scanned the bus nervously for an empty seat
Suddenly, I noticed a vacant spot
But you were occupying the spot next to it
I nervously asked if I could sit by you or if the seat was being saved for someone else
You glanced up, but you were silent
Silent
Silent
Silent
Then a smirk appeared on your face showing your perfectly crooked teeth
And your blue eyes gleamed
"No, it's open..come on"
Eagerly sinking into the seat, I felt at home
You laid your head back on the seat and began dozing off
Over time your head began to slant towards mine
I laid my head back and watched you
You felt so close
Eventually you began to break out of your slumber
And your sleepy eyes met mine
And we sleepily gazed at each other
In wonder
In silence
Until my alarm clock woke me up
But when you ask if I remember the time we went to Michigan, I'll say yes, because I do

Explicitly intimate.

It's the little things.

Excellent read.
