this is NOT a love poem

this is NOT a love poem

A Poem by Carlton Carr

He’s got
music in his fingers
rhythm in his bones
a sparkle in his eyes
and hair that shines
and when his hands hold me
I feel
swinging in my knees
and singing in my heart
his tongue it curls around me
like a python in the dark
but
somewhere deep inside him
is a place as hard
as his abdominal muscles
and my scared scarred heart
and in the centre of his soul
is a field of broken stones
from the
hearts that he’s broken
and the lies that he’s spoken
and the love that he’s frozen
with his cruel cold heart

Great poem. I love how there are kind of two parts to the poem, it starts out nice and pleasant and then it changes to kind of gloomy. And I love when you said,
"somewhere deep inside him
is a place as hard
as his abdominal muscles
and my scared scarred heart"
Great work with this poem.
