Standing In Doorways

Standing In Doorways

A Poem by Carlton Carr
"

For Pooh - This is not a new poem dearest: but it expresses how I feel about you. Image: Original collage by Carlton Carr

"
Caught
standing in doorways
years of hesitation
flash by

Suspended between
rooms I knew before
and doors to strange places
hiding on thresholds
holding out for a hand
to lead me through

You caught me
standing in doorways
and patiently waited
just out of sight
to stop me
from falling

Back to your economic style which I really like, may be because it mirrors my own poetic ethos
If I were Pooh I would feel honoured to have such an elegant piece dedicated to me
