I Have Hobbit Feet!A Poem by Carl TeegerstromMy poetry professor dared me to write a poem about my feet, so I did! I had fun writing this, and I hope you enjoy it."I picture a fairly human figure.... The feet from the ankles down, covered with brown hairy fur." - J.R.R. Tolkien I love walking through the park barefoot both on the pebbled concrete and green acorns, it might hurt but, I don’t mind, maybe I have hobbit feet. I grew tall, lanky, and with spindly fingers, my beard curled up around my cheeks and my foot is a size thirteen…and a half so they’re as big as hobbit feet. I lean on the flaking bark scales while perched in my favorite tree my bare feet can dangle below my eyes and they’re sinewy like hobbit feet. Long hairs curl like fur across the top, my middle toe’s a callous; bulbous and leathery, my pinky toe’s a worm hiding under it neighbor and my sole is brown and dirty like hobbit feet My Dad ran up the bill with different shoes because each pair either tore up or was torn up by my blistered feet. I was always meant to be barefoot, walking on the grass and writhing roots
so he joked that I must have hobbit feet! © 2016 Carl TeegerstromAuthor's Note
