ad astra

ad astra

A Poem by inclement weather

Ad astra
To the stars.
You float above Earth,
Constantly drifting.
They blink around you,
Bright light flickering out and in.

Ad astra
To the stars.
You sigh and watch the planet
It shrinks in size as you grow in distance.
Your hands tremble
You're separated now.

Ad astra
To the stars.
There is no reason for your dreaming of togetherness
For who are you to be together with
If you're floating alone
Amongst stars in the sky?

Ad astra
To the stars.
It has become lonely now,
Quietly, you ponder your self exile.
Was it worth it? Is anyone there to lead you back?
You just wish for someone to see something is wrong.

Ad astra
To the stars.
Someone has reached out and heard.
You are guided back, out of your isolation.
You are anchored. You are safe.
You are sound.

Ad astra.
Ad astra.
