Angels Sang That DayA Poem by Carlos SalinasA birthday poem for that special girl.Angels Sang That Day Special was the day, the hour you came to be, You were born with that kindness, the one you’ve shown me, The angels sang that day; they whispered your name in your mother’s ear, Your parents, so proud of their new baby girl, out poured their tears; That day, God put a new star in the skies, The only sparkle he made brighter was the twinkle in your eyes, As for your beauty, which draws stray eyes to stare, It’s so radiant, Venus herself couldn’t compare; You make others, especially me, feel good about who we are, Making us blush shyly, you reawaken our hearts, Your caring and loveliness are both rare and unique, Every one of your hugs offers the soothing touch I seek; I’m writing you these words to make you see what I see, your true value, You deserve so much more than this mere world can offer you. Angels sang that day in May, the day of your birth, I care for you in a special way, because I know how much you’re worth; Honesty, beauty, love; all these words name you, please don’t change, God made you heavenly, He didn’t have to rearrange.
