Chapter Two~The Plan

Connor came in my room at about 5:00 A.M that "night'. "Wake up sleeping beauty!" Connor said into my ear. I glanced up and put a pillow over my face. "What time is it?"I asked. Connor kissed my cheek. "Time for us to make a plan" I sighed and sat up. "Fine!" I said and I crossed my arms. "Well I already know you are coming with me..."I stopped him. "I never said that!" I exclaimed. He glared at me. "Are you sure about that?" he teased. I smiled. "You knew I would come with you." He nodded. "Yep". I laughed and replied, "So what's the plan?" He slid in next to me. "That we leave in two to three days." He said. "Thats it?" I asked. "No, I was thinking we take the bus to the farthest stop and go from there. We will each bring a backpack and fill it with extra clothes and food for about a week. I also know 4 places where we can take a shower." he said. "Okay, when do we get these backpacks ready?" I asked. "Today, after Will leaves and Trudy goes to the garden meeting." I nodded. "But really, what time is it?" I asked. "5:10" I sighed and scooted next to him. I acted as if I was going to kiss him, but at the last second, I pushed him off the bed instead. He laughed and got off the ground. He threw a pillow at me and I grabbed another pillow and whacked him on the head. We got in a huge pillow fight, then Will threw open my door. Connor and I froze. "And WHAT exactly do you two think your doing with Trudy's pillows?! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Trudy and I were having guests over, and we were in an important coversation, until you two started making noise!" Will exclaimed. He grabbed our pillows and smacked my face. "Hey! Don't you dare ever touch Becca"!! Connor screamed. Will rolled his eyes and stormed out of the room. I buried my face in my blankets and cried. The slap stung. Connor lifted me up. "I'm sorry Bec." He said. I looked up. "Why? You did not do anything." He sighed. "I'm sorry." he repeated. I hugged him. He put his arm around me and asked, "So it's 9 a.m, do you want to leave today Bec, I know it is a bit last minute but from what just happened, I cannot stay here another day!" He said. I nodded. "But I want to say goodbye to Jack" I replied. Connor looked at me. "Becca how come you and Jack spend so much time together?" I sighed. "Connor we don't. Every morning I go into his room and we hang out... actually not even every morning. We are just friends. Trust me, I would never hurt you." He nodded. "I know" I grabbed his arm. "Well, let's go get our backpacks ready. We walked into his room, and he pulled out two backpacks from behind his bed. He tossed one to me. "Here, you can go get some food ready if you want. Just get simple stuff that Trudy won't notice." he said. I set down the backpack and sat on his bed. "Connor, I don't know if I'm ready for this. I'm scared. Anything could happen." He sat down next to me. "I'll will be there through thin and through thick. I will never leave you." He said.
