Watercolor child

Watercolor child

A Poem by Peach

I am diluted.

Colorless in some ways.

Originality has been forgotten.

Eraser shavings hide in my sheets.

Brush them aside with my laundry.

Smells like second hand smoke.

Let the music play away the things I've already forgotten.

This is interesting: I like most of the lines indidually (especially eraser shavings and second hand smoke), but can't quite pull them together in my mind. Maybe it's because those lines are so good that they detract from the concept of being colorless. The music line doesn't resonate with me - I'm not a musical guy at all, but I certainly see where the line is going. Keep up the intrigue and maybe I'll catch on to your pattern as I read more of your writing.

Enjoy how you translated your somberness into verse.

You know how to use the language. In this short poem. Told a complete story. Easy to fade away and to become a ghost. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.

I think each poet has a time when existence leaves them transparent... and so, unable to change what they never could have anyway. Later we realize we can still express what we feel needs being recognized, and that empowers us to continue.

- at least to me.

Take care,
Chris
