Our Love Story

Our Love Story

A Poem by Peach
"

He came to mend my broken soul and never let go. I'm forever grateful.

"
We met in the springtime when the flowers began to bloom.
My gown golden as the sun that had shone and his smile like the moon.
Mysterious yet strange he was, I did not reject his embrace.
I remained hesitant to his affection but grew to love his face.
Beside the lake, with him, I lay and clouds rolled overhead.
We spoke of secrets, past lives and times our cheeks turned red.
Though the time we had was special something inside me grew.
My fear of giving my heart away was more painful than I knew.
His kindness genuine and actions sincere.
A word that I thought I knew was not what it appeared.
Red roses on my doorstep, he would not let me forget the moments that we shared, our hearts now fonder since we met.
I gave in to my emotions and fell into his arms. Finally a place away from those who did me harm.

I met the love of my life 6 years ago. Together to this day. This is another short poem I wrote during my time in college. I've never liked the way I execute rhymes but he has always made me feel silly and I feel he's best captured in this way. Here's to many more years together.

This is a beautiful love story told in such a sincere way, it's very touching. I love the way your poem expresses the way the initial attraction was both welcomed & somewhat not-so-much, too. That hesitance is shown in a realistic way, as it happens in most cases. You express yourself in a simple way, so it feels like this was told from an innocent viewpoint (a good thing) *smile* Fondly, Margie

This was so cute, and so awwww inspiring! It was real too, though. In a sweet, summer-vibes way. I'm glad I came by to read from you! I think this makes it on my list of favorite poems.
