Is money not enough

today was a day

a day for a change

a change in this life

so easily mistaken

mistaken for right

when it is really wrong

but what do i know

im only a kid

 

Only a kid they say

Nothing in the world yet

I offer nothing

Just an opinion

and opinion no one cares about

They preach about money

I preach about truth

Truth about life

 

But not just human life

There is nature and animals

Look deeply within ones self

and find the one who used to care

You were a kid once

You were wonderous and spontanious

Easily amused by the least butterfly flapping its wings

Out and about the colours would shine

 

Now all you care about

is the dollar you must find

"I work to get food on the table" you say

"Well whats the use

if your not even here to share it" i reply

Live a little

Be the real you again

I miss you and i love

 

I question if you even love me too

Lately its all about the money

We make enough to spare another family of six

So stop!

Just this once stop!

Take a walk outside

and enjoy what nature has to offer

before YOU tear it all down

I wonder how many people this might apply to. How many thousands, millions, have forgotten the wonder and beauty of the simple things in life.

For them the money is never enough. How utterly sad.

Really enjoyed this. The truth in it, though unbearably sad, is undeniable. I wish people could wake up from the delusion that makes them think money will bring them happiness.
