I let you fall

I let you fall

A Poem by dare to fall?

You were lying there on the floor

With nothing to stare at but the bathroom door

Just waiting for someone to come in and save your life

but minutes turned to hours

and by this point

your life has already been taken away

You overdosed on your medication

No one knows the reasonings for it

was this all part of God's sick and twisted plan

that no body truly understands

If I only got to you sooner

Would things have changed?

Questions like that won't ever be erased from my brain

I can't live without you

Don't you understand that?

You made me the person I am today

You never let me fall

So why did I let you

Im sorry..

im sorry..

im sorry...

If i only had

at least 5 more minutes with you

I would tell you I do

And then we could start our lives together

And take on the the world

Just like you said we would

But now you are gone

And there is nothing I could do to change that

Just know that I love you

Always and forever

And when we meet again

It will truly be ever lasting

Just like you said we would always be

~

dare to fall?,

Crusified by doubt we must all fight this war upon self - guilt and suffering are just two of the many punishments we inflict upon ourselves. Why? There is truly not enough reason in the world, most especially when in concern of an able minded person (or so we believe).

The guilt remains so we must punish ourselves and suffer the infliction.

Your poem touches all of the feelings surrounding our lifes as we deal with losing someone to suicide.

Powerful and thought provoking, remembering what it felt like to wonder "what if I had been there five minutes earlier" - I think, we would have only given them another couple days or maybe even years. Eventually a suicidal person is going to end thier own suffering in a way we all harbor shame for.

It is the most selfish act any person can comit; when the person is in that mind set, it is just not in the forefront of thier mind, it is really going to kill me... Usually it is all about revenge.

Your write feels real, I suppose this is why I connected so much, sorry to run on and on.

Please don't harbor any guilt... it will only hurt you and the ones you love.

Great Write,

Legacy
