Aftermath of Epiphany

Aftermath of Epiphany

A Poem by Carissa

Chills.

Iceberg spreading,

empty stomach to long esophogus,

toenails to collarbone.

Eyes slipping heavily,

door to mind locked shut.

Aftermath of ecstatic enlightenement,

monumental nothingless.

Slipped unnoticably back into the Void,

lie still on beds of rock,

the sun heats,

memory ignites and burns quickly.

"Don't go." I don't want this to end.

No.

Sleep fast approaching,

this heaviness is too much to handle.

Soon I'll awake from ecstatic reverie,

losing time to the Void, sleep.

Heavy.

Dreams only manifest when we are awake.

Now I'm wasting Time.

This is brilliant; the dance between our days and our dreams. Sleep overtaking the world and all we can accomplish.

You are so talented girl! I love your writing. Especially, "Slipped unnoticably back into the Void."

Keep at it. I've been missing you!
