The Unsleeping

The Unsleeping

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn
"

Insomnia

"
The Unsleeping

Kept awake by the bite of reality
Like the undead  they walk
And they talk and they stalk
They suffer from some abnormality

Rarely will you see a zombie
But they certainly cannot function
Moody for all their malfunction
Angry at you and Abercrombie

They are the Legions of the Unslept
Exiled from the Land of Nod
Feeling like such a furious fraud
Being in the waking world so unkempt

Well said. Insomnia can be like a living death!

"Exiled from the Land of Nod" - what a beautiful way to describe Insomniacs!

The only thing for me is that in the very last stanza, the second and third lines didn't rhyme like in the other stanzas. But then again, maybe it's just my accent.
