While You Rage

While You Rage

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn
"

Defending Yourself Against Someone Else's Rage

"

While You Rage

A dagger plunged deep within

A spike and wedge between us

You strike your blow

But it wasn’t the sting of your slap

That left an awful gap

Inside

This hate and anger

I cannot comprehend

While you rage

I try to defend
