Lady of the MoonA Poem by Cari Lynn VaughnOde to Moon Goddess and Women EverywhereLady of the Moon
The Sun Temple on the mountain top Is seen and celebrated nonstop But we sisters share the lachrymose Being a woman and mother we suppose
For thousands of months and years You welcomed our silvery tears Embracing our light shadowy sides Seeking out alike virgins and brides
Creeping quietly inside the rocks Time comes to a stop on the clocks Trinkets and flowers left behind To pay goddess Mama Kilya so kind
Lady of the Moon I give to you My monthly flow before it’s due Weeping from between my thighs You take the blood that therein lies
