Death of Love

"

Obituary

Tolstoy was wrong you see

In happiness and life is variety

In death and terrible tragedy

there is only a one true story

People grow old and grow apart

The question is when did it start,

how can one recognize and be smart?

How can we prevent love from

                             breaking our heart?

Did your love life slowly fade

or did disease rapidly invade?

Worse yet did someone trade

love for some other promise made?

It matters not the details of demise

even when the loss is a surprise

and even when you're lost in lies

The truth you must come to realize

True everlasting love is in immortality

It does not die or live in emergency

The death of a relationship is merely

The growth of fear and selfish vanity

Each passing is a murder to mourn

Each end leaves a life ripped and torn

And yet without the rose’s divine thorn

new love could be born and then reborn
