Alone

Alone

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn
"

Grief

"

Alone

Hiding under my blanket of grief

I am silent and still      clinging

To my crumbling world   grasping

Some spark of hope    Some sliver

       Of belief

How tragic that it is not the end   death

That takes you unfairly away from me

Still, no earthly ships will bring you home

Because your fears took away your

       Very breathe

Left alone in the darkness of my cave

I weep that I cannot follow you there

Down into your own underworld below

This is your journey that I am not allowed

                                           To brave
