Passport

Passport

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn
"

A passport can allow you access to travel from person to person

"

Passport

I can go most anywhere

A pass to visit most any port

The freedom to know   to care

A safe haven of some sort

It is my ticket out of here

It is my permit to pack a bag

and find out what’s out there

Welcoming turbulence and jet lag

Traveling to escape the past

or searching for some treasure

I am sure to have an absolute blast

Finding such sensuous pleasure

Wanderlust can culture and comfort

but weltschmerz may also find one

All your troubles may find export

if all you do is run    run   run

Without a map dear   do not depart

Expeditions expediently require aide

Passports prepare you only in part

for the journey of getting laid
