Masquerade

Masquerade

A Poem by Cari Lynn Vaughn
"

This Masquerade will be our downfall

"
Masquerade

In a room full of costumes

this place is not one assumes

Hiding behind the night

Running from unspeakable fright

The dance begins

Each step full of sins

Each note in the song

tells me that something is wrong

I look in your eyes

but I can’t get beyond the lies

Love me is all I ask

But you can’t put down your mask

Lord save me

I am drowning can’t you see

This masquerade ball

will be our downfall
