The MastersA Poem by Cari KinzA poem, perhaps a bit cynical, about how humans view the Earth. The Earth, The Skies, The Seas. We walk where we wish, We care little for the marks we make. We darken the air, We care little for what the future will breathe. Our lives we live for today, Our worries are for ourselves while we waste. We cry for the things that are missing, While we continue to bring others to their end. We say we are the Masters. The Trees, The Birds, The Whales. We kill what we wish, We care little for the holes we leave. We darken our souls, We care little for what the future will see. The Earth, bare but for ourselves. The Skies, empty but for our machines. The Seas, quiet without the ancient songs. Loneliness will be our legacy. © 2011 Cari KinzAuthor's Note
