For Those of Us About To Dye (A poem of homophones)A Poem by Cari KinzI wrote this for an English class I was taking. For those of us about to dye, To show gray hairs, we’d rather die! Off to the market where it sells A color not within our cells, But a color we must buy, And an applicator to apply it by. Lovely colors, lovely scents, We’ll gladly hand over our dollars and cents. All so that we may click, Within our own little social clique. We wonder in our chemical daze, How many hours, how many days, Have we sat there and had to wait, With our hair full of color weight Hoping that this would be the one, That our color quest had been won. Up and up our hopes do soar, But in the end our scalps are sore. Next time be sure the box is completely read, And don't buy one with so much red. Our thoughts continue in this vein, And all because we are so vain! © 2011 Cari KinzAuthor's Note
