AftermathA Poem by Cari KinzWhat happens when it's "over"
Anger has consumed my heart. It grows and festers in the darkness of my thoughts. You ask me why, As if it is a mystery to you. Others tell me to forgive, I have no right to my rage. Forget it, it is over. It is not. It is not their world you destroyed. Their hopes were not torn in the space of a moment. Their lives do not lay shattered at your feet. They worry for you, but not for the ones you’ve hurt. Why am I still angry, you wonder? Each day it is fresh. And forgiveness cannot be had, When the remorse is not real. © 2012 Cari KinzAuthor's Note
