What Kind of World Do We Live In?

What Kind of World Do We Live In?

A Poem by ★ Aeryn Harmonica Truckfinn ★
"

Call me crazy, but I wish for peace.

"
What kind of world do we live in?
What kind of world is this
That takes its fatal instruments
To other countries,
Taking life not only from those who fight,
But from those who only want peace?
And then wave our hands and say,
"It's collateral damage."
What kind of world doesn't value
Each and every life?
Every man,
Woman,
And child that walks this Earth.
What kind of world is this
That is so immune to these horrors
That we do not weep for every lost breath?
What kind of world does not see
That each loss
Is the loss of a brother?
A fellow human.
We are all the same,
And yet we tear each other down,
Make each other suffer,
Until another member of our Earth
Is gone forever.
What kind of world do we live in?

This is gorgeous, and very accurate. Another job extremely well-done.
