it's a long way down the creakA Poem by Elle
it's a long way down the creak, my dear,
but follow the hissing of the spring, you can't go wrong with mindful ears, you'll hear the waters sing. it's a rough road to the glen, old friend, but watch for signs of times gone past, they'll show you where the path will bend, and lead you to the supple grass. the night is long and fitful, girl, but sleep, and find your solitude, make peace with this aul' dreary world, and rest among the evening dew. your spirit may tire and grow weary, still, you mustn't give the boundless love you have to things you fear - find your strength in what is blessed.
