dust bunnies

dust bunnies

A Poem by Anonymous 79
"

A poem about writing

"
my thoughts collect like dust bunnies
one thought, two thoughts, suddenly more
and when I walk across the floors of my mind
they catch my attention
is that dirt on the floor?
no, they're dust bunnies
i pick up a broom
sweep the thoughts onto a page
other dust bunnies knock on the door
oh no, i haven't finished sweeping the floor
sweep under tables, under chairs
sweep dust bunnies out of corners
and then out of my mind
they clutter my notebook now, but that's okay
my thoughts are useful now that they're on a page

This is so relatable to me, unfortunately I dust my brain about as much as I dust anything in real life too. Hopefully my thought detritus can be half as good as this.

A deep appreciation for haiku emerged during literature studies, captivated by its ability to express profound thoughts in just a few words. The book Blue Harlequin features many of these inspired moments. Read the full article to explore more about this beautiful form of poetry: https://aoidemagazine.com/what-is-haiku-poetry/
