time will tell

A poem I wrote for someone important to me.

trying to find the words to say
stay just a second longer
but i know a single second
will never be long enough

trying to find my voice
but it didn't follow us outside
i don't know how i managed
to even say goodbye

one week
blurs into two
into three
i count every second
until i see you again
because a single second
is too long

the clock ticks out my heartbeat
tick tock tick tock
and only time will tell
how much i love you

I hope my capitalization doesn't bother you. I wrote it like that on purpose - same as the lack of end-punctuation... or any pinctuation except apostrophes, really.
