Late, Too EarlyA Poem by Alexander DI kneel upon the foggy grass in gloom As the scent of flowers tickle my nose, But amongst a field of many a tomb, I place upon her mantle a fresh rose: A testament to my undying love That cries a river through these sombre eyes, And vows a promise to reach high above: To hold you hand in hand in endless skies, And there we will meet once more in due grace, As soul mates with a joyous dance to share, But now is too early to leave this place: For to our daughter it would be unfair. Now I must stand and to home I must leave, But that is just another place to grieve.
