Fragile bone structureA Story by Ama May CooperAn unfortunate occurance. The vodka bottle spun through the air as the train demolished her life, screeching to a stand still moments to late. Desperate screams of on lookers warnings un-heard and only a shocked and stunned silence remained. The driver exited his carriage with a grim expression as he went to inspect the broken remains of a 17 year old female. The body was shredded coated in a crimson layer, and regrettably, without a doubt a corpse empty of all life. The girl had consumed copious amounts of bottled liquor, and in her drunken state had stumbled un-intentionally on to the tracks right infront of the incoming train. And it had killed her, of course. Three hundred and fifty five tons of speeding metal had charged over her fragile human frame, and torn her swiftly and ruthlessly from this world. Doubtless there would be an article in tommorow's paper, written by strangers, entitled something like "Drunken teen collides head on with train." There always was, filled with pathetic nicetys and fair wishes from fame hungry nobodys trying to get their name in the paper. They didn't know her, maybe they'd seen her a few times on night outs, brushed past her in the college corridors at most, but they'll of never spoken a word to the disembodied girl. Half of them only know her name because she'd died, crumbled under wheel by the hefty metal machine. First it had merely winded her, then the ribs splintered within her, sending shockwaves of inscrusiating pain through her still functioning body. The final blow came after she had fallen back from the force of the collision, in the shape of a circle, a metal circle that charged over her brain, Brutally fragmenting her skull into shattered pieces. Once the train had gone on its merry way, and her death been added to the statistics of rail deaths, there was no recognizable proof of it having happened at all. Just an old school photo in the paper the next morning. © 2012 Ama May CooperReviews
