The keeperA Poem by Ama May CooperSometimes we shatter, and it changes us it hollows us out from the inside and leaves merely the remains... a demon of distortion and destruction
The mental anguish of an empty soul
drained, defeated, withered like a dieing flower She will fight no more Her life force almost non-existent Each step, echoes within her own mind Not an ounce of wishful determination left She breaks and tumbles And then gives in From behind her very eyes the lights go dim A darkness taints her fragile tongue A spirit nessled deep within her mind It burns with an anger and consumes her soul She merely watches her limbs no longer her's to control This demon that fed of the suffering that shook her bones it grew stronger as she grew weary And now through no choice of her own it dominated Her words became bitter filled with heartless scorn For the world it had slaughtered what she swore to protect Ripped her so cruely without a care in the world Filled her with vengeance and hatred for this sorrid ground Consumed by rage it lay waste to the world without the gentle soul to calm it The demon would never be silenced For its keeper had set it free Im sorry , poor world for that demons keeper was me. But i lay within my golden cage buried far beneath this uncontrollable rage.
