The journey of a cursed goddessA Poem by Ama May CooperThe emotion so often depicted, a curse that meant no harmit tears you apart piece by piece with tenderness, its blades feel as soft as feathers. It’s a
sweet destruction, an elegant despair. a battle torn goddess It wraps its wings around do-eyed pray It basks in the happiness of starry eyed lovers Its roses lay waist to the heart thick thorns spread decay A gentle touch as cold as ice A fire warming the most frozen a soul An angel basked in a glorious light It speaps and creeps within the very bones A demon that seeks to bond and mend To create a relationship of inseparable power To tear its captors to shreds by forceful engagement Takes no joy in the torment it has created It weaves the very smiles across our faces The warm tingle through veins as you lay beside her The cold emptiness as the bed grows cold Left , alone the angle departs It roots so deep torn and ripped from the inside the puncture wounds remain the feathers flutter tearing concave holes within the skull What are these lingering dreams? The goddess leaves her craving for a gentle touch , and moves on seeking out one that can contain her might weeping a tear for the two she tore apart Tears ring with a soul shattering sadness Its wings spread wide, one more heartbroken bride Beginning a new tapestry for love hungry gazes searching for a feeling uncorupted by lies She weaves her heavy head a barren land of cruel games A humans game of bets for a slide between a woman's sheets its wings grow weary spirit crushed and burned love was demolished the power to create an untarnished patnerage consumed by humans ways. © 2012 Ama May Cooper |
