Heartless tears

Heartless tears

A Poem by Ama May Cooper

Such a simple lie
to tell yourself
it will make everything better
it wont even leave a mark
dancing across your skin
etching secret codes
salvation in this insanity
just a drop of red liquid
carving deeper
pursuing some undiscovered goal
emptying yourself of all these curses
watch the blood run clear
Let the sliver mix with the crimson
perform a show across the wrist
tears pouring over your work
so much precision for such destruction
Pushing harder
screaming without a sound
yelling for someone to understand
tearing apart the human flesh
accidently slipping further inside
routing around for the end
dragging, tearing , ripping , shredding
one step to far
Not regretting
laughing , smiling as the light fades
as the darkness grips your tear striken eyes
the clank of metal agasint hard floor
Vision blurring over the four walls
the floor shifts removing sure footing
the puddle beaneath you grows
the red flashing into your deep brown eyes
lurching forward
gripping onto anything
fear causing nausea
just a moment ot hold on
knees buckle cave
and you fall
tears and blood
broken bones upon the floor
Laying empty and cold
you feel release
you feel so free
the tears held in to long storming from you
and hten its over
the light goes out
the heart slows
the blood trickles to a stop
and your lieing there
done the deed
the blood surrounds your crying corpse
and the silence returns the calm salvation in nothing x
