Empty tear drops

Empty tear drops

A Poem by Ama May Cooper

tear ducts run dry

waterless tears run from my eyes

day after day sitting in a cursed silence

a stained and unclean darkness

The screams long since faded away

the skin upon the arm scratched to disarray

Only the empty room surrounds me

no tender hugs to calm me

Crying out with not a sound

No moans , groans , distrat declarations

silence seeping from the very lungs

no movement left to throw away

The streams of tears no longer

cried away until the sea ran dry

until the very core of all that was left

could weep not one more tear

The knife blade lies beside my side

caked in scarlet coloring

the silver dirtied , destroyed in amber

gentle beads on a silver head

The lungs no longer breathing air

decaying inwards

seeping agony

empty of all that could save me

I have not moved for a whole week

Not a word has uttered over pale lips

not a twitch or a murmur

not a blink , or swallow

The heart beats faded

silenced and beaten

the blood nolonger flows

empty and alone

And as you look upon me

you finally take all in

and realise, so suddenly

that i will never move again.

This is great. The emotions that come through the poem is wonderful. Great job. This is a definite improvement on your other pieces of poetry. But I know that you can do even better (Y)
Keep up the good work.

This reminds me of my mother's past. It shows the sadness from the heart. Sorrow seeping right out of the cracks of a broken heart. Barely stuck together and on the danger of breaking apart.

Good writing. I love it. ^^

I had to read twice. Poem took me on twist and turns with your words. I like the poem a lot. Description was amazing. Ending was perfect.

This was excellent. The despair is evident in every syllable.

You had a few typos. Third stanza, second line: "distrat" should be "distraught". Second-last stanza, third line: you put "no longer" as one word. Just minor things.

I loved this :)

Another of your pain-filled cries from the heart... always expressing the anguish and hurt of one with a tender heart and big soul...
