The final countdown

The final countdown

A Poem by Ama May Cooper

Its the end of the line

the final countdown

the trap thats set ready

There's no way back

theres no way forward

this is the final stand

you grip the wall

and watch light fading

tears pouring down your face

the clocks run out

the timers ringing

theres no more breaths to take

your knees collide

with cold hard earth

the darkness clouds your vision

there's no more waiting

no more trying

theres simply no time left

no tender words left to say

your arms follow feet

agasint the floor

your dreams where not completed

your name is called no more

only silence to your senses

your head slums slowly

echo on the floor

but you can never hear it

your timers stopped

your hearts is frozen

there are no second chances

Its the end of the line

the final countdown

the trap thats set ready

SPRUNG!

Stark and vivid in its depiction of the last moments before death... strong, urgent writing
