White lies

White lies

A Poem by Ama May Cooper

Save me the pain

for a little longer

look me in the eyes

tell me you care

lie straight out to me

i can read the glance in your eyes

but atleast your tryng

to spare me the agony

hold me closer like before

kiss me gently your tender touch

my arms locked in mine

oblvious to your hidden words

lie to me a little longer

look thru all my tears

but when i request the honest truth

spare me nothing my love

I already knew your real motive

thru all those loving white lies

but i was happy playing games

beating myself up inside

lie to me nolonger love

let me feel the pain

tear me rip me pull me apart

i kno you dont quite feel same

i look at you i see a god

so beautiful and kinda

behind those eyes i see the truth

your not mine

so love me one last time

lie to me while i will listen

but when i turn away

remove the white lies

hide them

cause truth above all will save me now

love me a little longer

but only if you mean it

This is a really strong emotional piece and I enjoyed reading this quite a lot. I think many people want to look past it when their lover lies to them because we love them so much at the same time, we just finally have enough-that is it. Really well written

very well told and so much truth in your words, we always know the truth, even when we won't admit it

wonderfully written

A sad but touching poem... as the betrayed lover seeks to sustain the illusion for a little longer... clinging in hope to what is hopeless, wishing it might be different... Very well told...
