the window ledge of beauty

the window ledge of beauty

A Poem by Ama May Cooper
"

Its something i have a habit of doing when im thinking, sitting on my window ledge i mean

"

sitting on my window ledge

the world unfolds beaneath me

like a map on a table

spreading its folded paper knowladge

roads woven in 3D

printed out beneath me

for miles and miles

it feels like i am floating high in the sky

running my fingers along tree tops

peering down chimmy pots

just sitting here away from it all upon my window ledge

people walk by , like ants so unaware of my presence

walking without a map

but with mentally injected directions

aiming for a goal i can proberly see

the church spire within my view

the cockral blowing genlty on the wind

planes soar above my head,

following there track with my eyes

watching them land

wheels first , nose down

and straighten

i stay still , not moving for fear fo falling

falling down into the hedges below

tumbling broken and destroyed on the grass

the grass where we used to play football

not so long ago, feels longer still

sitting here alone on my window ledge

the world a beautiful mass of green

trees towering with a confidence

the land mass below seeming almost flat

a tap of rain upon my nose

a shower soon to fall

when it comes ill duck inside

safe from the drenching the others will run from

for now i sit and watch as gently more rain drops

stain the landscape

light stealing clouds , grey and ominons

inside soon

the rain gets heavier, singing of the treetops

drum beats on the pavement

screams of those caught in its attack

but i am safe, i pull away.

inside , looking at no map

pull the window shut until another day

sitting alone in my room with my 3 purring cats.

See you see the beauty in the world Now let it touch you and you will be one with the world and with your self. Each of us is part good and part bad take of yourself and give to one who suffers. In giving we receive and grow .In taking love we never know.

It was a great piece of writing (in my old house, I could actually climb out my window onto the roof and do the same thing...now I live in a one story =C) that I could really relate to, but I caught so many spelling errors I got distracted. Word could help you with that...

Sitting and staring at the world outside... Good place for thinking and dreaming. Pleasing piece of writing..
