Haunting possiblities

Haunting possiblities

A Poem by Ama May Cooper

Your words haunt my mind
riding on the tongues of others
badly chosen projections
Like farther like daughter
Screaming out my resentment
perhaps she doth protest to much
Am i merely a dormant copy
Poison in preparation for the brewing
Just his perfectly crafted machine
Running from the bruises on my psyche
Have i stumbled back into your spiral
Merely a replica of your failures
Maybe your insanity was my causing
Your aggression just deserves for disobedience
Perhaps it was never even you to blame
Did i ask for the misgivings of my childhood?
An unintentional product of a deranged mind?
where the memories all individually deserved?
I question my own annoyance
Perhaps i drive the world from sanity
The aggression received a just response to my existence
