I can't

I can't

A Poem by Ama May Cooper

My breathing quickens
quackes and shudders
it comes out in exasperated spurts

I can't control it
I can't stop it
I can't predict it

My thoughts race
Lost in translation
Behind a stuttering jaw

I can't focus
I can't stop panicking
I can't think

All eyes boreing holes
A million cackling voices
A gathering of unwanted judgments

I can't do this
I can't concentrate
I have to get out of here

Frozen in place
immobilized by terror
muted by anxiety
