Beneath the waves

Beneath the waves

A Poem by Ama May Cooper

Down in the Depths
Of the murky seas
is a beautiful paradise
we'll never see
unexplored and untouched
human civilization successfully kept at bay
protected by mother natures
watery barrier
Below the waves
are crimson cities
littered with young fishes
School's of vibrant energy
Great hunters on patrol
scooping up those walking astray
Beast and things
we've never seen
Hidden so fantastically
in all its color streamed glory
coral reefs of organisms
thriving miles below the surface
distorted faces
creative bodies
a perfect little Eco system
sometimes bleeding through the surface
tainted by oil spills
dark thick poison
seeping acrid layers through there lungs
harpooned and hunted
Murdered for personal gain
venturing to close to our destructive desire's
The sea there elegant protector
dancing under shivering shields
the mysterious depths of the sea
untouched by our gluttons hands
surviving unscathed by the worlds destruction.
