Concealed CorruptionA Poem by Ama May Cooper
Peak behind the veil
Of sunny happy London Tear through the corprate lies Dont be distracted by the media hype Buried in the folders and files Shuffled under beds of the dealers and the hustlers lurking behind bank desks hiding behind impressive name badges London's corruption burnt deep a city plunged into recession riots hang heavy, strikes reoccur A city covered in a deathly shame Elections for a greater cause False promises and glorified suits Disregard for diplomacy An unsettled rage remains Money leaks through the fingers of the rich lavished away from the chaos created by there greed Pockets squeezed and drained A desperation of distress as cuts axe jobs The Olympics some scheme to happiness Bring in the tourists bring in the millions to laugh and stare at the remains of an attraction Roads collapsing , diversions to nowhere transportation stuffed like tin cans road signs, road works a grid lock for eternity doubtless some aggressive display May we crumble beneath it all for our sins A city built for the gods , demolished by selfish deeds Reality what is printed on the TV screens sheltered like babies from our sickening disease
