Where Did Happiness Hide?

Where Did Happiness Hide?

A Poem by Mirabela-Denisa Căpîlna
"

A call to reflect, remember, and rediscover the simple sources of true happiness.

"
We talk of shadows, struggles, pain,

But let's find sunshine, after rain.

Let's talk of happiness, plain and true,

And ask, dear friend, what it means to you.

Forget the grand, the overwhelming,

Think of the moments, gently swelling.

With quiet joy, a peaceful ease,

A gentle breeze, among the trees.

Have you felt that?

Think back in time, your life unrolled,

What stories have, your years been told?

Where did happiness, softly creep,

Into your heart, while you did sleep?

Or wide awake?

Was it a child's, unburdened glee?

A simple moment, wild and free?

Playing in sunshine, feeling warm,

Safe and protected, from the storm?

Remember that?

Or was it later, love's first bloom?

A shared glance, across a room?

A whispered word, a gentle touch,

That meant so very, very much?

Did love bring joy?

Perhaps it came, with helping hand,

To someone lost, in this wide land.

A kindness given, freely shared,

A burden lifted, a spirit spared.

Did that feel good?

Or was it quiet, all alone,

A sense of peace, uniquely known?

A book well-read, a song well-sung,

A task complete, when day was done?

Contentment's peace?

I challenge you, to search within,

Where did true happiness begin?

And where has it, been hiding since?

What small moments, made you wince,

With pleasure pure?

Don't look for fireworks, loud and bright,

But embers glowing, in the night.

The simple things, that often hide,

The sources where, true joy abide.

When were you happy? Truly so?

Not just okay, but in the flow?

What made you smile, from deep inside?

Where did your happiness reside?

Don't let it slip, don't let it fade,

This memory bright, this choice you've made,

To seek out joy.

To name it now. To feel it grow.

Where was it? When? And how did you know?

Whether it's always possible is unknown, but, oh how worth tryng to create, join, inspire ad nausuem is at least worth trying to achieve!
