Emily Carr is one of Canada's most acclaimed artists. Through her paintings, she helped popularize the west coast landscapes as well as its totems.

Though my agenda did not mention it, Emily Carr was part of the Group of Seven. My friend did a project on her, whereas I did a project on Lawren Harris (who is indeed a guy), also part of the Group of Seven.
The Group of Seven were abstract artists in Canada, who were developing a new style of art.
