Echoes of an Island at MidnightA Poem by John Srun with the stars and laugh at the light toe the razor where water meets sand and the waves crash like the ticking of some godless clock don't ignore the moons as they pull you close and whisper in your ear 'only lovers dance in the night' embrace the drink that hits your tongue like the blood that flows through your viens for that is the hand that wields my scythe what a shame to have lived all these years only to fear the sun Jesus, what must be done? watch your back, as i shall watch mine disheartened; completely alone but this isn't the first time you can take nothing more forsaken in my eyes. i followed the light, along with the blind; faith dripping from a stone soon to return to the dust of your lies. falling souls dancing with desire clothed in the dark, for this is the place where spirits are fed to the fire!
