lost at sea

lost at sea

A Poem by Candy Cane
"

drowning in lust... betrayal

"

he aint been gone for hours
and you’re all that’s on my mind
how’d I go from needing time
to on the verge of crime

cause he just wouldn’t listen.
thought I was leaving,
couldn’t bear it, pinned me to that wall,
and tore my world to pieces.

thought he could hurt me and I’d just let it go.
oh, no… well I’m not going home.
sorry don’t cut it, no not this time.
so, he left this party crying,
ten years gone, goodbye.

and somehow I don’t care.
cause there you were, just standing there
waiting in line.
oh baby now I’m gonna make you mine.
you’re moving in closer now
this is not a dream
oh your touch and your kiss is what i need.

baby I’m afraid we’re in too deep.
and the devil on my shoulder won’t stop.
he'll drown the little angel left in me.
cant stop these hearts that pound,
swept up in this deluge
in a sea that has no bounds.

now we’re lost in open waters.
he was your friend. does that make this bad?
he aint been gone for hours,
shouldn’t I be sad?
oh, but my hearts gone as cold as ice
and baby your body’s hot tonight.

days go by, we’re still submerged.
are we gonna drown or get eaten alive?
cause the sharks; they smell his tears like blood.
will we be punished for our crimes?

oh baby, he sits alone and cries.
ten years gone, goodbye,
but somehow I just don’t care.
not with you still standing there.
the devil on my shoulder won’t stop
he drown the angel in this sea.

we’re a ship about to wreck
but I can’t get enough
and we’re already so wet.

I feel this to be a tragic story. After ages of abuse
she throws herself at the first available male.
Oh, he`s probably o.k, but she just uses him to satisfy
'the lust created by the one she is getting even with.

This girl/woman needs to back off and do some meditation.
Some deep thinking where males are not present.

Getting back to the story:
Loaded with metaphors and symbols, it makes for a deep
and thoughtful read.
The story is also highly imaginative. It flows with a creative
force.
I could rave about this piece for hours, it is phenominal and
I hope you will do others in the same style.
