If I Told You

Just a random poem I came up with when I was bored

If I told you I loved you

Would you repeat those words back?

Would you explain that 

I was your only

Forever onwards 

And forever more?

Or would you leave

Avert your eyes

Turn away

And leave me in the dust?

Would you let me

Hold you in my arms

After nightmares or dreams?
Let me be the first one you see

Every morning and the last 

Every night?

I only hope

That you will understand

I won't leave you

Even if the dark is cold

And I'll walk with you

When the silence takes control

And I'll repeat those three words I said

When you're too broken to stand

"I love you."
