Dagger Smile

Dagger Smile

A Poem by Blunt
"

Conversation with Death

"
When death greeted me, with his cold black stare
His hands reaching out to me, I must have startled him
I was smiling.

I have been waiting so long for his arrival
To finally see him again, is akin to meeting an old friend.
I have stepped from the gates of Hell,
Embittered deeply our contract to each other.

Yet, the corridors, the empty ones would be so hollow.
So dreadful. all so dreadful.
Sometimes i would like to chat,
But they were all evil. the dagger-like smiles.

My senses are sharp no?
I could see beneath their hypocritcal smiles,
That they fear me.
I could hear the voices of heaven, hell and earth
Or a failing heart that was pumping just moments ago.
Where my hands had engulfed it,

Blood had spilled, but I was grinning.

We're merely puppets, instruments to our will.
Cut off all strings. Cut it all off.
Cut off the evil one of them all, the heart.
Stop its beating.

Death, do you think the man would be grateful?
For the deed I had so kindly done.
I was thrown, many vacant hollow stare,
Incomprehensible Stares. Why can't they see,
I'm saving them.
That I'm a materpiece, built to perfection.

Death would laugh his sinister laugh,
Like old hearty friends we would chat.
Of how fools they are.

Mad, I wasn't mad.
I might have been perhaps unstable, but mad,
chuckled I, not I.
